![]() | Dr. Imes received his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma and obtained his internal medicine and pulmonary training at the same Institution. He is licensed to practice medicine in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Wyoming. Dr. Imes has a long-standing interest in sleep related breathing disorders and published some of the first articles in the medical literature describing the sleep apnea syndrome and its pathophysiology. Dr. Imes is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine. As an American Lung Association fellow during his pulmonary disease residency, he began working with Dr. William Orr, researching respiratory disorders in sleep. Pioneers in the field, Orr and Imes were responsible for establishing one of the first centers in the United States dedicated to the study of respiratory sleep disorders and for encouraging interest and research expertise in disorders related to sleep apnea and its treatment. Dr. Imes has served as medical director for Kindred Hospital, president of the American Lung Association in Oklahoma, Oklahoma Thoracic Society, and OU College of Medicine Alumni Society, and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has received appointments to OU as clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine and clinical instructor in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Imes is currently the Medical Director of the Sleep Research and Diagnostic Laboratory of the Lynn Health Science Institute, a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the OU Health Sciences Center. |

Tom came to work with us following his own sleep study in May of 2007, in part because diagnosing and treating his sleep apnea changed his life. Tom’s reputation as a care giver is exemplary and patients continually express their appreciation of his quality of care. Tom enjoys working the family ranch north of Harrison, NE, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his wife and children. |
![]() | Jean Vancil is licensed in Wyoming and Nebraska and understands both the personal and clinical aspects of OSA. Jean, a veteran whose son currently serves in the Air Force, was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea in January, 2008 and CPAP therapy dramatically improved her health. Jean is a caring and compassionate nurse with experience serving at the veterans’ home and assisting shift workers on the railroad. She especially enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of the sleep lab and seeing the immediate positive results patients often experience from a trial of CPAP therapy. Jean enjoys spending time with her grandaughter Chloe and is especially proud of her three sons and husband Tom. |
